    Revisiting The Parasol
I think I am going to have to give up on my desire to have a very specific kind of parasol for these hot days. It has crossed over from fashion statement to necessity. I'll have to suck up having one of the garish designs that are generally found on them or get a plain one and ask [info]__wolverine__ to paint it before I add glass bead fringe.

I will have one by the end of this weekend.

I am cleaning house today and I have WAY too many t-shirts, mostly XL and some large.

Plus I have tons of vintage button downs and even some work shirts with "Big AL's Crawdad boil"....even have some ladies stuff.....I just need to get rid of some stuff and am too lazy to e-bay.

This is a grab bag type deal....but tell me what kind you want and I might be able to fit it to your desires.

Of course I will take a cool shirt in exchange for one of mine. ALL USED....some more than others.

I would say $5 would cover shipping, paypal abarthd@yahoo.com

I will not guarantee quick shipping, but I will send all before then end of the summer.

    Dignity In America
"I so miss a little dignity in America." -- Boston Legal

Yesterday was such a ridiculous day for America. It made me realize how much credit I gave adults as a child. Adults leave much to be desired, I'm afraid. And America? We're nothing but a nation of high schoolers with money who can't get past those superficial arguments that seemed so damn important until you really take a look at them. It's frustrating, embarrassing and, now, destroying us. That impending doom I've sensed in the back of my head for the past ten years? That wasn't a natural part of aging or seeing the world change. It was a real harbinger of the tail spin I was witnessing yet unable to articulate fully until it became glaringly obvious what exactly was happening. What's even more vexing is that it's so damn serious that I tend to think any idiot can also see it too. Instead, when I vocalize any of these concerns, I'm labeled a 'liberal Hollywood elitist' or a 'dumb blonde bimbo' (depending upon who is condemning my views) who has no clue what is happening.

Today's heat is already well underway. It only cooled down to about 60 degrees over night. And that's what really keeps the heat wave going. It'll continue for the next three days unless we can get a marine layer or some manner of a low that will cool this coast off over night. The only benefit to these episodes of extreme weather is that I have to condense an entire day into a fistful of hours. It makes me very productive.

We're armed with an entire case of spearmint water from Metro Mint, though. And we have an exit strategy. I just can't take sitting in this place trying to work while it slowly turns into a rice cooker. It could turn out to be a wonderful thing to work very hard for six to eight hours in the morning and then take the rest of the day off to play out in the world.

    evidence of Bunny's knee

I am pleased to present my poster for Original Sin Cider done by artist R. Black!

At Burke's Lovely Mistress Calendar Release Party in December, the founder of Original Sin, Gidon Coll and I met and he proposed doing a poster. I was thrilled at the idea and while I was in Germany, they sent me the ad that R. Black cooked up.

The posters will be available to purchase soon, and there's more where that came from, so stay tuned! Ah, you know how I love to tease you!

Today must have been some kind of National Ride Your Bike To Work Day because the bike traffic out there today was nuts! [Nope, it looks like it was local] And kind of cool, too. To see people changing their habits like that, to see alternatives to cars... it works.

Today my work ethic is very much out the window. I'd rather be... exactly. Of course it doesn't help that one of my neighbors had their TV on just loud enough to be irritating but not loud enough for me to tell who it was. Fortunately a fan helped drown them out and I actually got some sleep.

    But work? Please!

    Come into my world...

"Come into my world," the Dimensional Goddess beckons... )

I've been wanting to do another of those "self-contained" backgrounds that some of my fellow artists have done. I've always liked them, and they add a depth that a piece with no background at all (ie, most of my work) can never really achieve, or without having to break my arm filling the whole page with background. (Since i use pencil crayons ... i am completely inept at doing art on the computer).

Originally i was gonna make a buncha wacky colours for the background, but was too lazy, haha.

So, follow the yellow ... non-brick road, and Enjoy!

today adam and i decided to have lunch in chinatown after another useless uni class.

second photobooth machine was sooooo lame and crap but they had all these mariah carey looking photos on it so we gave it a go anyway, THANKS LAME MACHINE FOR NOT MAKING US LOOK HOT/TURN INTO MARIAH CAREY.

things have been pretty breezy lately. i really need to get started on my next work.

i handed in an essay last week! i haven't done one of those in years.

what's the best shit for preventing colds from happening when you know yr on the verge of one? i picked up some lemsip today and also was recommended some "oscillocococcinum" whatever the fuck that is, its basically sugar in little tubes you let dissolve in your mouth which is meant to make you fight off the first signs of a cold, but i dont know if its actually good or not, i've done two- they're pretty tasty.

oh, and p.s. my work is up on the stupidkrap online gallery on the second page. it's actually 1900$, but i'm sure something will be done about that soon.

Tragedy strikes a small town when beloved Coach Pinchy is fatally killed in a deadly accident. So it's up to Assistant Coaches Jonny Porkpie and Nasty Canasta to whip an all-burlesque-star team into fighting shape in time to win the coveted Gold Trophy Cup Award Prize at the biggest athletic event of the year: the SportsLympics. And they'll do it... for Coach Pinchy.

With burlesque tributes to everyone's favorite (and least favorite) sports, BALLS! Sporty Burlesque promises to go the whole 9", hit below the belt, put the "end" in "end run", the "rear" in "rear guard", and bring deeper meaning to the phrase "double header". And remember, it's not about whether you win. It's about how you lose... your clothes.

Hosted by NASTY CANASTA & JONNY PORKPIE, and starring ANITA COOKIE, BASTARD KEITH, CLAMS CASINO, DOC WASABASSCO, GIGI LA FEMME, HARVEST MOON, JULIE ATLAS MUZ, LITTLE BROOKLYN, ROJA ROUGE, NAUGHTIA NICE, NEIL O'FORTUNE, SCOTT RAYOW and TIGGER!
